For data protection purposes we are the data controller for information collected through this website.

What we collect, and why

If you fill in the call-back form, we collect your name, phone number, postcode, and — if you give them — your email address and any details you type about the job. We use that solely to ring you back, quote your work and carry it out. Nothing else.

If you use the chat box and it cannot answer your question, the question itself is recorded so we can improve the answers. We do not ask for, or store, your name or contact details through the chat. Please do not type personal details into it — use the form or ring us.

We do not use advertising trackers, we do not build profiles of visitors, and we do not sell or share your details with anyone for marketing.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies, which is why you have not been shown a cookie banner. The only thing stored in your browser is a small counter that stops the chat box logging the same unanswered question repeatedly. It contains nothing that identifies you, it never leaves your device, and it is cleared when you close the tab.

Fonts are served from this website rather than from Google, so your visit is not reported to any third party.

Who else sees it

Our website is hosted by Netlify, who also handle the form submissions and pass them to our email. They process the data on our instructions as our data processor. Our email is provided by Microsoft (Outlook). Both keep standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security purposes.

Nobody else receives your details.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not turn into work are deleted within 12 months. If we carry out work for you, we keep the job record for 7 years, because HMRC requires it and because the guarantee on the materials runs for 15 years and we need to know whose it is.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Email or ring us and we will deal with it within one month, free of charge.

If you think we have handled your information badly, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Our lawful basis

When you ask us to quote, we process your details to take steps at your request before entering a contract. Where we keep records after a job, that is our legal obligation for tax and our legitimate interest in honouring the guarantee.
